Known for blending luxury fabrics, relaxed tailoring, and understated elegance, ZEGNA has successfully transformed itself from a traditional tailoring house into a leader of modern luxury menswear. Under Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori, the brand pioneered a softer approach to dressing that bridges tailoring, sportswear, and casual luxury.

ZEGNA History & Heritage

ZEGNA’s story began in 1910, when eighteen-year-old Ermenegildo Zegna founded a wool mill in Trivero, located in Italy’s Piedmont region. His ambition was to create the world’s finest fabrics while improving the surrounding community and environment.

From the earliest years, the company invested heavily in textile innovation and sustainability. Ermenegildo Zegna initiated reforestation projects and developed what later became Oasi Zegna, a protected natural area surrounding the company’s birthplace.

Over time, the company evolved from fabric manufacturing into one of the world’s leading luxury menswear houses.

Key milestones:
• 1910: Ermenegildo Zegna establishes the wool mill in Trivero.
• 1930s: International expansion through textile exports.
• 1960s: Second generation expands into clothing production.
• 1972: Introduction of the Su Misura made-to-measure service.
• 1980: Opening of the first flagship boutique in Paris.
• 2014: Launch of the Triple Stitch™ sneaker.
• 2016: Alessandro Sartori returns as Artistic Director.
