Founded in 1993 by Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, the Amsterdam-based house has spent more than three decades challenging conventional ideas of clothing through sculptural construction, surrealism, humor, and spectacular runway presentations.

Known for combining conceptual experimentation, couture craftsmanship, exaggerated proportions, and playful visual commentary, Viktor&Rolf spans Haute Couture, ready-to-wear, Mariage, eyewear, and fragrances. Its fragrance universe—including Flowerbomb, Spicebomb, Bonbon, and Good Fortune—has extended the designers' provocative creative language into globally recognizable beauty signatures.

Today, Viktor&Rolf is part of OTB Group, which it joined in 2008, while Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren continue designing collections in-house and maintaining creative control over the maison.

Viktor&Rolf History & Heritage

Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren met while studying at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design in the Netherlands. After graduating, the designers began working together and won all three major prizes at the Salon Européen des Jeunes Stylistes in Hyères, helping launch their international career. They established Viktor&Rolf in 1993, approaching fashion less as conventional clothing design and more as a platform for artistic experimentation.

The duo quickly became known for theatrical presentations and conceptual collections that questioned fashion itself. Their work has subsequently entered major cultural institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Barbican, Kyoto Costume Institute, and Kunsthalle München. Over time, Viktor&Rolf expanded into ready-to-wear, bridal, and fragrances without abandoning its experimental couture identity.
