Heron Preston is an American contemporary fashion label renowned for its industrial workwear influences, graphic streetwear, utilitarian design, and distinctive orange branding. Founded by designer and multidisciplinary creative Heron Preston, the namesake label made its major fashion debut in 2017, building on Preston's earlier work across art, music, streetwear, and creative direction.

Known for combining workwear, uniforms, bold graphics, functional details, sustainability experiments, and street culture, Heron Preston developed an immediately recognizable visual vocabulary. Signatures including the Cyrillic СТИЛЬ (“Style”) motif, orange labels, bird graphics, utility garments, and high-profile collaborations helped establish the brand within the luxury-streetwear movement of the late 2010s.

Today, Heron Preston has entered a new independent era. After regaining control of his namesake label from New Guards Group, Preston relaunched the business with a more focused approach built around smaller drops, refined wardrobe staples, experimentation, and direct connection with his community.

Heron Preston History & Heritage

Born in San Francisco, Heron Preston moved to New York in 2004 to study at Parsons School of Design. His career subsequently developed across fashion, art, nightlife, music, and creative direction rather than through a traditional luxury-house trajectory.

Preston became part of the creative circle surrounding Been Trill, alongside figures including Virgil Abloh and Matthew Williams, before developing independent projects. His early experiments included HPC Trading Co. and an influential collaboration with New York City's Department of Sanitation, which transformed uniforms and discarded materials into fashion while exploring ideas around sustainability and workwear.

Key Milestones:
2004: Heron Preston moves to New York to attend Parsons School of Design.
Early 2010s: Preston becomes associated with the influential Been Trill creative collective alongside Virgil Abloh, Matthew Williams, and others.
2016: Preston develops projects through HPC Trading Co. and collaborates with New York City's Department of Sanitation, establishing his interest in uniforms, workwear, and sustainability.
2017: The Heron Preston namesake fashion label makes its international debut, establishing signatures including industrial workwear, orange branding, and Cyrillic graphics.
Late 2010s–2020s: Collaborations and projects spanning NASA, Carhartt, Nike, Calvin Klein, Mercedes-Benz, and other partners expand Preston's presence across fashion and culture.
2025: Preston regains full ownership of his namesake label from New Guards Group and relaunches it independently with a more focused business and creative model.

Heron Preston continues demonstrating how workwear, street culture, sustainability, technology, and graphic design can coexist within a contemporary fashion vocabulary.

“Heron Preston transforms industrial workwear into modern streetwear, blending utility, bold graphics, cultural experimentation, and an unmistakable orange identity.”
